Tony George, track owner and the man who started the Indianapolis Racing League IRL , graces the cover of this book along with winner Luyendyk. Once again, Tony denied publisher Carl Hungness press credentials to the track, yet Hungness and staff persevered and produced another highly collectible book. Features: The Race Fan’s Library, a highly detailed study of over 100 separate titles sought after by many Indy car fans; The 16th Street Speedway, Midget racing inside the famed old Bush Stadium, a AAA ballpark; Miniature Artwork by John Rogers on bottlecaps and guitar picks; Master Metalcrafters; Ron Fournier churns out beautiful eighth-scale race cars and Will Stryker, artist in aluminum produces eye-dazzling pieces that range from hats to shoes; Fabulous historical features by noted historians John Blazier and Tom Rollings; Blazier details the history of the Speedway Badges with fine color photos; Rollings and Blazier team up to produce a great history of the Speedway’s Riding Mechanics and another well-researched story on the legendary Speedway Bricks; IRL Boss Leo Mehl is interviewed; a feature on Eddie Cheever; Book excerpt from "Along For The Ride" by Dorie Sweikert about her life and times with Indy winner Bob Sweikert, a real tear-jerker.
